AA1 Spirit's CD, "Innerworkings", is ann 11-track collection of instrumental guitar-hero worthy cuts that showcase the guitar talent of Alzada Abeyta. Alzada uses no less than eleven different guitars in his compositional collection - every track weaving a soothing almost new age backdrop to his solo electric lead lines. Comparisons to Satriani are unavoidable, however Abeyta seems to focus more on atmosphere than outright hook/melody based music. His method is poignant if not simplistic in approach - he lays down a bed of gorgeous guitars, strings, keys, and drum lines, and then proceeds to slowly build his improvised guitar parts of the arrangements, and in many case that build is to lighting passionate metal. His playing is smooth, yet has an edge that also reminds us of Jeff Beck. There is a metaphysical element to every track, and indeed in Abeyta's liner notes as he hopes that listening, 'see within a path to the Real You, Real Truth, Real happiness, Real Life. .realize your innerworkings". The vibe is mellow and contemplative, relaxing and compelling, and his musicianship carries the day as each track is a musical adventure that will satisfy most lovers of the guitar-based and new age genres.
