earBuzz Review:
Ron Hamilton has released a song called "The Assault" on his latest CD, Wilderado "Serendip", that is incredible - it is an epic emotionally exciting song/myth about the "people of know" - and the degradation of their world - all described through Hamilton's talented voice - full of character, grit, and expression. Tremendous songwriting - and Hamilton's writing is compelling as many of his lyrics (poems) use artistic license to hide meaning within metaphors and intelligent word coupling. "..the assault on satori begins with the people of know stowing their whims into crimson charges, setting their souls to fly the coming wind. ." . Other lyrics are a bit more up front, from "Utah Special". .". .ridin' into Utah we were miles and days away from what we knew with no one knowin' where we were goin'. .". The style is progressive rock and then a little blues/country mixed in as well. Some of the tracks are reminiscent of Rush, Zeppelin - while others are straight country as Hamilton covers Hank William's "Ramblin' Man". .". .I can settle down and be doing just fine till I hear an old freight rollin' down the line. .", mp3'd here. A very musically interesting CD from a gifted and talented musician/artist.
