earBuzz Review:
When you find out The Eames Era named their band after celebrated designers Charles Eames and Ray Eames you can not help but to be intrigued; especially given their former band name: The double Zeroes. This band personifies 21st century pop music. There is no doubt why the producers of the hit television show Greys Anatomy chose their music. This is the sound of today: Playful and witty, yet coherent and just downright fun. The Second EP is the bands sophomore effort, following the release of their demo tape. These four songs are gems, and belong on the shelf of any twenty-something music addict. "I Could Be Anything" has the hook in the chorus that bands aspire to write. The sound conjures memories of Tom Hanks delightful independent film That Thing You Do (songs written by pop kings Fountains of Wayne). These guys have the winning formula, especially lead singer Ashlin Phillips. Her tonality is pop perfect, the kind of voice found on classic LP's. If pop music moves you, buy this little record immediately. The floating guitar rifts and catchy choruses will have you singing along in the shower. MM
